We recently took our brand-new, custom-built Glance Pics wedding magnet booth to a beautiful wedding, and it was brilliant to finally see the whole setup working exactly as we’d imagined. Building the booth specifically for weddings meant we could cut down our setup time, with everything having its own place and everything we needed organised and ready to go. It made the whole day run much more smoothly and meant we could concentrate on what we were actually there to do — creating lots of lovely memories for the couple and their guests.
One thing we quickly learnt was that, because what we do is a little different, not everyone immediately understood what the magnet booth was all about! The start of the day was fairly quiet while guests figured us out, so we created an example magnet to show people exactly what they could expect. Once a few guests had a go and started showing their magnets to everyone else, the curiosity spread pretty quickly — and before long, people were queuing up to have their own made. We also had quite a few guests gathering around just to watch the magnets being made, with plenty of “Oh, so you just cut that out?” and “Look at the little press!” commentary happening along the way. It was genuinely lovely to see how interested people were in the process.
And that’s something we hadn’t quite anticipated — the magnet isn’t just the keepsake, it’s part of the experience too. Because each magnet is made there and then, guests get to watch their photo go from a picture on the screen to something they can actually hold in their hand. It gives people something to talk about, something to get involved with, and then something personal to take home and keep. It’s a little different from a traditional wedding favour or photo booth, and we think that’s what makes Glance Pics such a fun addition to a wedding day.
The feedback from the couple and their guests was fantastic. So many people, including the venue staff, made comments about how they had "never seen anything like it before" and that it was "something different" and "exactly what the wedding industry needed". The response has absolutely blown us away!
The whole day left us even more excited about what’s ahead. We’re already looking forward to bringing Glance Pics to more weddings across Ireland and Northern Ireland and filling our wedding diary with more couples, more venues and hundreds of little moments turned into magnets.
